Accommodations

King’s campus is found within a secluded quadrangle on the edge of downtown Halifax. Facilities, dining and recreation are all within a minute’s walk of any residence room.

Built in the style of a traditional dormitory with shared washrooms and showers (designated male and female on each floor), all 96 rooms (144 beds) in Alex Hall are designated as short-term accommodations—less than 30 days—and serve as our primary accommodation.

A further 46 rooms (76 beds) are reserved for long-term rentals—30 days or more—in The Bays, our second residence. These are four-story walk-ups with several doubles (adjoining singles), sharing a common washroom per floor. Our Bay units make ideal summer rentals for students or excellent affordable alternatives for families or small groups traveling in Nova Scotia and the Maritimes.

All rooms are equipped with a small refrigerator and a telephone with free local service; unfortunately, long distance is not available from the rooms. With advance notification, internet access may be made available for long-term rentals, but please allow seven days for activation. An activation fee of $20.00 must be paid on arrival. For your leisure, several common rooms are also available in Alex Hall for reading, socializing or watching TV (cable available).
