At the Foundation Year Programme's inception, one of its founding ideals was that of developing a multi-faced yet integrated community—and this philosophy has extended into the whole of the College. Here, students are given the opportunity to develop all sides of themselves: intellectual, spiritual, artistic and physical.
Rounding out the King's experience, the College's Athletics Department offers a dynamic opportunity for the student who wishes to remain involved in athletics after high school. For the serious athlete, varsity sports include soccer, basketball, volleyball, rugby and badminton, and are characterized by a commitment to excellence. For those with more recreational aims, the College offers a wide range of recreational and fitness opportunities, including soccer and dodgeball, supported by the King's Amateur Athletics Association (known as CUBE).
The College's relationship with Dalhousie also makes for an even broader range of intramural activities, adding the likes of flag football, ultimate frisbee and beach volleyball to the roster.
The Athletics Department urges every prospective student to join, bringing to the table his or her own chosen level of involvement.
