Chapel & Choir

The Chapel is yours for the taking. It is a beautiful, quiet place to find solitude for reflection, meditation and prayer—or, to be part of yet another community at King's.

King's College ChapelGenerations of students of all denominations have prayed in King's College Chapel, and have been challenged to articulate a faith that meets the demands of intellectual rigour and compassionate service to others. You are invited to join us.

The University Chaplain, Father Dr. Gary Thorne, is consulted by students of all faith affiliations, or of none, on a wide range of issues. Those desiring personal and confidential consultations related to religion, spirituality, ethics, personal stress or life crisis are encouraged to contact him directly to arrange an appointment.

At Dalhousie University, Father Thorne is part of the Multi-Faith Centre and works with colleagues of Lutheran, Roman Catholic, Christian Reformed, Baptist, United Church, Jewish, Muslim, Hindu and Buddhist traditions to serve students, faculty and staff at Dalhousie and King's universities.

The Chapel Choir is based on the choirs of Cambridge and Oxford and is under the direction of Paul Halley. Organ and choral scholars receive honorariums each term.
