February 4, 2011 - February 6, 2011
The King's Chapel Winter Retreat will be held at Mersey River Nature Retreat Centre on Friday February 4th - Sunday, February 6th. The Winter Retreat is a wonderful opportunity to experience the beauty of Nova Scotia's backcountry - step off the Quad and into Kejimkujik National Park. Lead by King's alumnus and this year's Chapel Theologian, Dr. Stephen Blackwood, the weekend will center around the theme of 'Rhythm, Memory, and the Habit of Prayer'. There will be various recreational activities available each day. Retreatants may choose to snowshoe, cross-counrty skii, skate, hike or, simply study and relax in nature in wintertime.
Accommodation includes choice of chalet, or, for the brave, a tent. All meals provided by our retreat chefs.
The daily rhythm of prayer lived out in the King's Chapel will be maintained throughout the weekend. Nick Halley, Chapel Musician-in-Residence, will lead sung Matins, Evensong, and Compline.
Open to students of all faiths and traditions or none. All are welcome, all are invited!
Brochures with registration forms are available at the back of the Chapel and on the Chaplain's door. Please fill out and return to Stephanie Boudreau at the Reception Desk of the A&A Building at King's.
