The University of King's College and the Early Modern Studies Programme present a seminar with Dr. Edward Andrew on Friday, March 24, 3:30-4:30 pm in the Senior Common Room, King’s Arts & Administration Building, 6350 Coburg Road.
His seminar paper is entitled "Imperial Republicanism: Rome as the Model Republic from the English Civil War to the French Revolution.”
Dr. Andrew is a Professor Emeritus of political theory at the University of Toronto. His recent books include Conscience and Its Critics: Protestant Conscience, Enlightenment Reason and Modern Subjectivity (2001), Patrons of Enlightenment (2006), and Imperial Republics: War, Revolution and Territorial Expansion from the English Civil War to the French Revolution (2011).
The seminar is free and open to interested faculty, students, and members of the public.
