The King's Theatrical Society presents The Soldier Dreams, a one-act play by award-winning Canadian playwright Daniel MacIvor. It's directed by Jeremy Powell and produced by Shannon Ireland
The Soldier Dreams is an award-winning one-act play by Daniel MacIvor. As the play opens we find David (Harry Sawchuck as David and Justin Ling as David 1) coming to terms with his own impending death. His elder sister Tish (Leigh Dawson), her husband Sam (Patrick McGuire), his younger sister Judy (Addy Shoichet), his lover Richard (Hugh Cape) and his nurse (Laura Vingoe-Cram) reconcile themselves to a fast approaching reality as David relives a romantic encounter with a German medical student (Ben Reiskind). MacIvor’s play questions life, death and the possibility of more, and yet does not dissolve into a philosophical depression; the script is smattered with humour and joyful moments.
