Along with the above fees, residence students must participate in one of the on-campus meal plan options.

Residence fees only cover students during their academic term: students are expected to leave residence each term within 24 hours after their last scheduled exam or academic commitment. Students may be permitted to occupy a room in exceptional circumstances at the discretion of the Dean. For charges and conditions, students should consult with the Dean of Residence and Student Accounts.

Residence fees are prorated based on the number of days residence is open per term: for fall, 109 days; winter, 112 days. Students leaving residence early or entering late will require permission from the Dean for a refund to be granted.

Residence caution and gown deposits are credited to the student's account late May, and will remain as a credit on that account until a refund is requested by the student, (from their official university email account or in person).

Non-King's Students Living in Residence

Please note that non King's students living in residence will be charged the College Fee and the Athletic Fee in addition to room charges.

Room Keys and Smart Cards

Students who fail to return their interior room keys (or smartchip cards) and/or exterior smart cards by their check-out date in April will be charged a corresponding replacement fee. Keys are valued at $25.00, smartchip cards (interior) at $35.00 and smart cards (exterior) at $15.00.

The deadline to return a key/smartchip card or smartcard and receive a credit to your student account is April 30.
