Materials available at other Novanet libraries can be requested through the "Place a Hold or Request a Loan" option in the online catalogue. Novanet Express items are delivered in approximately three business days. There is no charge for this service.
Materials not available at King's or another Novanet library can be obtained from libraries worldwide by placing a request through Interlibrary Loan Services. There is no charge for books or journal articles.
All loans (books, microfilm, audio/visual materials) must be picked up at the University of King's College Library. Articles can be delivered electronically to your registered university email address. The default delivery method for article requests is "email link." This will deliver an email to your account with a link to a PDF of the article. Please note that, for copyright reasons, the article can only be opened from the link once; however, it can be printed or saved for use at your convenience. The link in the email will be available for opening for 14 days after the email is sent.
The Library is using the Relais document delivery system for its Interlibrary Loan lending and borrowing. Relais is an automated, integrated interlibrary loan system that has been implemented by the libraries of the Atlantic Scholarly Information Network (ASIN).
The request form (ASIN Document Delivery Patron Login) should be used for requesting items not available at King's or another Novanet library. Once logged in you have the ability to place new requests for books and articles, view the status of your outstanding requests and your complete order history, and cancel any requests that you have submitted. To access the form you will need to login: Request Interlibrary Loan.
Your Novanet account must be up to date, and in good standing, to login to the form.
To access the King's ASIN interlibrary loan forms, you need to register your King's ID card at the circulation desk of the Library. The interlibrary loan forms will become available to you as soon as you are registered.
If you require an item urgently or, have any questions regarding the forms or submitting requests, please contact either the circulation or reference desk staff at the Library.
University of King's College Library Interlibrary Loan Services uses the Relais Enterprise system and is a member of the Atlantic Scholarly Information Network (ASIN). Requests are preferred in machine readable format (i.e. Docline, Relais, VDX, Amicus). Requests via email, fax and mail are accepted but libraries using these methods to request regularly from the Library will be asked to use the ASIN web forms. Login information will be provided.
Select the List All, List Open or Query options from the login screen or from the buttons at the top of the request forms. "List All" lists all submitted requests, "List Open" lists all incomplete requests and "Query" allows you to look at the detailed status of any particular request. Please note that many of the entries in the status log are system generated and may require staff assistance to interpret. If you need any assistance reading the log please contact Interlibrary Loan staff.
Use the buttons at the bottom of the Request Status page to send renewal, cancellation or general messages to the Interlibrary Loan staff.
