Admission Requirements for US & International Students

Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor Science (BSc)

  • SAT I score of at least 1650 (combined Critical Reading, Math and Writing); ACT results are also acceptable with a composite score of at least 23 and no individual score less than 20;
  • Senior year English with at least a B
  • Four other courses at the senior year level with a strong B average
  • Science applicants must also have a pre-calculus or calculus math with at least a B

Bachelor of Music (BMus)

  • Same academic requirements as for BA
  • Audition/interview with the Music Department to determine both proficiency as a performer and knowledge of music theory and aural dictation
  • Supplementary Application Form to be submitted to the Music Department. The form can be found here.

Bachelor of Journalism Honours (BJH)

  • Same academic requirements as for BA
  • 1,000-word autobiographical sketch
  • A portfolio of any previous work in journalism (ie: high school paper, community radio) or any other evidence of a keen interest in journalism (optional)
  • Three letters of reference (optional)
  • Resume (recommended.)

International Applicants

Bermuda

Students may apply with the following credentials: USA grade 12 (as above), General Certificate of Education (GCE), Bermuda Secondary School Certificate (BSSC) or the new Bermuda School Certificate (BSC), first year of Bermuda College, the Saltus Post-Graduate Year, or an International Baccalaureate certificate or diploma.

The United Kingdom, West Indies, West Africa

Students may apply with the following credentials: General Certificate of Education (GCE) or West African Examinations Council Senior Secondary School Leaving Certificate with “C” standing in at least five subjects, of which one must be English and at least two must be at the advanced level (two Advanced Supplementary (A/S) levels are equivalent to one advanced level subject).

India

Students may apply with the following credentials: All India Senior School Certificate (CBSE), Indian School Certificate, Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC)/Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC), or Senior
Secondary Certificate/ Pre-University Certificate/Intermediate Certificate.
