For students who are interested in journalism as a complement to another field of study, the School of Journalism offers the option of a Minor in Journalism Studies.
Journalism is story-telling based on factual evidence. As part of the Minor, students will receive core instruction in this technique, as well as in reporting, journalistic style, interviewing and copyediting. They will learn how to gather information for a story and how to construct it in a compelling form.
To complete the Minor in Journalism Studies, students have to be enrolled in a 20-credit major or honours degree in Arts or Sciences. They also must meet the requirements of the Arts or Sciences programme, as well as complete five full credits in the School of Journalism, including:
