Dear King’s Community,
We have had several inquiries seeking clarification about our memo concerning consultation about extending the contract of the president.
The term for Dr Cooper expires 30 June 2014. In such cases, normally the board would strike a Presidential Search Committee now to begin the process to select a new president.
The board has asked the Presidential Search Committee to seek views on the possibility of extending Dr Cooper’s tenure, for two or three years as of 1 July 2014. The board deliberately put forth the "two or three year" extension to solicit comments from the King’s community. A two year extension would take us to 30 June 2016 and a three year extension to 30 June 2017. Of course, the community may wish to begin a search for a new president now or in the new future.
We look forward to your input. If you wish to contribute to this process, please email your comments regarding the potential reappointment of Dr Cooper. All comments will be treated in confidence.
