Frequently Asked Questions

I have an RESP for my son/daughter. There is a form that needs to be completed by the university. What do I do with it?

Your child must be fully registered for the academic year before this form can be completed. You can send the form to the following address, or you can fax it to: Registrar's Office, University of King's College, 902-423-3357.

I'd like to call you to discuss my child's academic record. Who should I call?

Due to the Nova Scotia Freedom of Information of Protection of Privacy Act (FOIPOP), we are unable to discuss a student's academic record with any outside parties, including parents, without permission from the student. If your child would like to grant you this permission he or she can call us at 902-422-1271.

What happens if my child gets sick while attending King's?

King's students have access to Dalhousie Health Services. Students can make an appointment to see a doctor by calling 902-494-2171. Counselling Services are also available to King's students. Appointments can be made by calling 902-494-2180.

My child has been awarded a scholarship from the University. When will it be posted to his/her student account?

Scholarships will be posted to students' accounts in mid-August, provided that students are registered for the upcoming year. Scholarships will be awarded in full for the fall term. GM Entrance Bursaries are applied in the winter term, after the Registrar's Office receives confirmation of a student loan held by the student.

Residence Bursaries will not be applied to a student's account until the student has provided the Registrar's Office with proof that he or she is in receipt of a student loan. Once the student provides proof of student loan, the bursary will be applied immediately.

I need proof of my child's registration at the university for a health plan, RESP, external scholarship, insurance, etc. Where can I get this?

To request a Confirmation of Enrolment for your child, please contact the Registrar's Office at 902-422-1271.
