Now in his sixth season as Head Coach, Luc Stevenson brings a wealth of experience from both the CCAA and U SPORTS levels. Originally from Oakville, Ontario, Stevenson joined King’s following three seasons as an Assistant Coach with the Acadia University Axemen men’s basketball program. In his first season at the helm, he led King’s to their first playoff victory since 2011 — a milestone achievement that marked the beginning of a new era for the program.
His coaching career also includes roles at Red Deer College and Medicine Hat College in Alberta, along with leadership positions with U17 provincial teams in Nova Scotia, Alberta, and Ontario. In addition to his collegiate coaching experience, Stevenson is the founder and Program Director of YHZ Basketball Association, an elite-level summer basketball club focused on high-performance athlete development.
Stevenson holds a Bachelor of Physical Education from Brock University, a Bachelor of Education from Acadia University, and a Master of Education in Coaching Studies from the University of Victoria. In addition to his coaching responsibilities, he works as a Physical Education teacher with the Halifax Regional Centre for Education.
