Men's soccer coach Jamie McGinnis wins big at nationals, before they even get started

King’s very own men’s soccer head coach Jamie McGinnis has won the 2025 CCAA Men’s Soccer Coach of the Year!

Our Blue Devils men’s soccer team has had an exceptional year, ending their season undefeated, with 40 goals for and a nearly unheard-of zero goals against. Under McGinnis’s leadership, they have returned to nationals this week for their third consecutive season.

McGinnis’s focus, however, isn’t on results but on building a culture and environment where his players can thrive. The recognition he is now receiving at the national level is very well-deserved.

To quote the CCAA announcement, “McGinnis brings both technical expertise and a passion for mentorship to his role. Beyond tactics and training, he serves as a guiding influence during his athletes’ formative years, helping them navigate the balance between academics, athletics, and personal well-being. His open communication and leadership have created a program culture defined by trust, unity, and pride in representing the University of King’s College.

‘Jamie has set a high standard for coaching excellence,’ said James Kryger CCAA National Convenor. ‘His commitment to his players, his team, and his program exemplifies the impact a coach can have both on the field and in the broader community.’”
