Several times each semester, President Lahey brings a King’s alum to have lunch in the lodge with current students. Together, they enjoy a delicious meal and casual conversation. This month Pres. Lahey invites students to join him in a meal with former journalist and career public servant Jennifer Peddle.

She has shoulder length blond hair and glassesJennifer Peddle, BJ(Hons)’96, joined the Public Service Renewal Secretariat at the Privy Council Office in 2022, where she contributes to the development and implementation of communications and engagement strategies that promote a whole-of-government approach to public service management and renewal. Since entering the federal public service in 1998, Jennifer has built a dynamic career in communications, starting in a regional office and then relocating to the National Capital Region. She has served in five government departments, including Human Resources and Skills Development/Social Development Canada, Health Canada, Shared Services Canada and Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat, where she led on initiatives that engage and inform Canadians and public servants. Before her public service tenure, she worked as a reporter for two newspapers in Newfoundland and Labrador, covering local issues and amplifying community voices. Originally from Gander, Nfld., Jennifer and her husband have resided in Ottawa for 24 years.
