Join us to welcome Prof. David Wright, Associate Professor at the University of Calgary Faculty of Law, for a Luncheon Lecture on climate law entitled: Canada’s Federal Net-Zero Legislation: Pathway to Deep Decarbonization or Road to Nowhere?
This conversation about the future of environmental accountability in Canada will examine how the Canadian Net-Zero Emissions Accountability Act is shaping the country’s climate law and policy. Prof. Wright will explore, after several years into its implementation, whether the legislation is meeting its promise as a roadmap to decarbonization or struggling under political and legal uncertainty. Students will gain insight into constitutional, environmental and international law and legislative interpretation.
This event is part of the University of Calgary–University of King’s College partnership, which gives King’s students valuable opportunities to learn about law school pathways and connect directly with UCalgary Law faculty.
All students welcome! If you would like to attend, please RSVP by sending an email to president.office@ukings.ca with any dietary restrictions by Tuesday, October 28. The first 30 students to RSVP will be invited to attend.
